We Are All Individuals
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Trendsimulator where the goal is to stay unique.
Based on the theories of Pierre Bourdieu on the dynamics of power in society.
Game made for Deichman Game Jam. The theme for this game jam was "Abscence".
After a lot of brainstorming I wanted to make a game about the abscence of Individuality/Identity/Personality.
The easiest way to implement this as a game that I could think of was to make a trend simulator, where the player is on top of the hierarchy and has to always be unique. While people down the hierarchy will copy the player's appearance.
The game becomes harder the more unique the population has become as a consequence of your choices.
Uniqueness calculation is based on LAB color space with Delta-E algorithm.
